Mountain Outreach 2010

Mountain Outreach 2010

June 24-30th

Every year our church participates in the Mountain Outreach project by going on a mission trip to Williamsburg Kentucky and building a home for a family that is desperately in need.  Often times these families can be found living in a trailer with roofs that leak so bad, their mattress are soaked with water.  We enter the job site at the beginning of the week with just a foundation that has been laid and by the time we are done at the end of the week we have a fully furnished house ready to be lived in by the family that has been chosen!

If you have ever wanted to see the power of God at work, enjoy working with your hands, and you wish to see the joy that a family has at the end of the week when the house is dedicated, this is the trip for you!  Just imagine the Extreme Home Makeover television show on a much smaller budget and the power of God's servants using their talents to literally build His kingdom.

The youth are a vital part of making this week happen as they provide a lot of the brute force in laboring away in the middle of the hot summer.  In the evenings we get cleaned up and often enjoy some of the beautiful parts of nature that the Appalachian area has to offer!
